He wanted a chicken coop,” Sawyer’s mother Shelley laughed. “You know, a lot of kids go to Disneyland and go swim with the dolphins and stuff, but he wanted a chicken coop mansion.”

With the help of area volunteers and local donations, Sawyer received a place to keep his chickens safe – a place he can enjoy forever.

As soon as Anna spotted mermaids on the beach, she ran to greet them.
The mermaids took Anna to the pool at the Boca Raton Beach Club and taught her how to swim like a mermaid. After learning the basics, Anna became a "mermaid newscaster" and had the opportunity to interview the mermaids.

Now in high school, Sammie has been named a wish ambassador at her local Make-A-Wish chapter.

Bryant, a 10-year-old from Virginia, was told he could have any wish in the world − go anywhere, see anything. Bryant told his wish granters he wanted to see the place where his favorite tractors were built. Soon after, Bryant and his family were on their way to Waterloo, Iowa, to visit the John Deere factory.

Cara Mund made North Dakota history when she was crowned Miss America. Mund, who grew up in Bismarck, spent much of her childhood devoting time to philanthropy. At age 14, she started “Make-A-Wish Passion with Fashion,” an annual fashion show that has raised more than $76,000 to grant wishes for kids across North Dakota.

Darey’s daily cancer treatments for the next three years mean trips to his local park are not possible. After the 5-year-old told wish granters his wish, 30 volunteers put in a day’s worth of manual labor to bring a playground to Darey’s backyard.

Piero joined the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office to become an honorary deputy for a day. The 7-year-old received an authentic uniform, complete with patches and a tie, and then spent the day out on patrol. For the little boy with the courageous heart, it was a wish come true.

North Dakota teen travels to help sea turtles

Mya has always dreamed of helping baby sea turtles. Her wish took her to the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton, where the 17-year-old helped scientists feed and care for sea turtles. The nature center monitors more than 800 nests and releases 9,000 turtle hatchlings every season.
